I’m just a few years late in posting these photos. I come across them in preparation to go back to Yangon soon. Some places stay frozen in time a little while longer than others. frozen is perhaps the wrong word, what I mean to say is that they haven’t yet been caught up in that swirl of 21 st century metallic modernism…but rather than try to describe what that is, or what was once here and is still there, I will let your eyes do the storytelling. The photos start on 26th street in downtown Yangon searching for the old synagogue which I heard exists…and then jump a few kilometers across town to the great wonder complex of temples, shrines and Buddhas, the Shwedagon pagoda.
